Kennington Playgroup is a registered charity managed by a voluntary Committee.
The Committee is responsible for:
- Staff – support of staff in the day-to-day running of the setting, staff recruitment, staff appraisals, employment procedures and recruitment.
- Standards and Regulations – ensuring standards are maintained and legislation followed under the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Premises and Equipment – ensuring buildings, resources and equipment are maintained to a high standard of safety.
- Fundraising – organisation of various fundraising events and social gatherings.
Parents/carers are elected to fill positions at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held once a year, currently in November.
Committee meetings take place every 6 weeks and all parents and carers are welcome to attend.
Playgroup relies on parent involvement for management, ideas, support and fund-raising. Helping at Playgroup is a great way to meet people and also be actively involved in your child’s time at playgroup.

We meet on the first Wednesday of the month, every other month.
